Officials cite ‘great progress’ in talks over $700B financial bailout – see deal later Sunday.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Congressional leaders said shortly after midnight that they had reached a tentative deal over the White House’s proposed $700 billion bailout of the financial system.
Members of both parties and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson were aiming to craft final legislation by Sunday evening – in time for the start of financial markets around the world.
“We’ve been working very hard on this and we’ve made great progress toward a deal that will work and will be effective in the marketplace and effective for all Americans,” Paulson said.
Paulson made the announcement along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and other legislators. They characterized the accord as an agreement in principle.
“Now it’s got to be turned over to the lawyers, turned into final language,” said Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D.

They turned it “over to the lawyers!” Ya know, there is nothing that fills me with more dread concerning this disaster of a bailout plan then the fact that feckless appaRATchik washingtOOn politicians, in consultation with corpoRATe lobbyists are drafting this disaster of a bailout! DAGNABIT! Now they are handing it over to the corpoRATe ambulance chasers?
WE ARE COMPLETELY SCREWED!
With this deal coming to the fetid over ripeness that can only be found in the rotten corpoRATe barrel. We taxpayers have no chance what so ever of escaping this rip off. As fishy as this deal continues to smell to we the taxpayers, to the corpoRATeers it smells like money! That is the real point of this malodorous disaster of a corpoRATe welfare bailout plan. To funnel a huge sum of taxpayer money into the coffers of the corpoRATeers! Sorry comrade chairman bon bon of the house unrepublican activities committee and filthy repub company. NO AMOUNT OF POLITICAL THEATRICS Lysol IS GOING TO COVER UP THE STENCH OF THIS FLATULENCE BEING EJECTED OUT OF THE ASS OF OUR BODY POLITIC IN washingtOOn! That goes double for the ethically challenged dirty dems!

I know you and the rest of the feckless appaRATchicks in washingtOOn are busy trying to sell the Brooklyn Bridge of a corpoRATe bailout plan to us sucker taxpayers. But it would be really keen if you stopped for a second and understood that “debates” which include only the co-joined twins of the apocalypse called mcbama will amount to nothing more then the left ass cheek telling the right ass cheek that it smells bad.
After all, there is this thing called democratic process! I understand how inconvenient and annoying it can be for you in the CENSORSHIP industry, but some of us are really old fashioned and set in our ways.
We believe THAT ALL THE CANDIDATES ON THE BALLOT FOR ELECTION should be included in the debates.
This is not a request, but a demand!
