Yes Guy, you are correct. There are over 80 co-sponsors of a single payer health care bill, hr 676,in congress. These can become the progressive "fifth column" against the forces of status quo failure in washingtOOn, but I'm not counting on it! If the current progressive law makers in the house and senate would bolt from the dirty dem party and start a new third party, that would be nice, but I'm not counting on that either!

There need be a large movement outside washingtOOn to make real change happen. It must be an anti two party movement. Both the dirty dems and filthy repubs must be brought down! I see the beginnings of such a movement, but thus far it is too fractured to be effective. Far too many of those who could and should be involved are statusQUObama and dirty dem apologists! If the wider group pulls together on issues like single payer health care, the continuation and escalation of the disaster of a war, etc. and works effectively AGAINST statusQUObama, it can have real success in the 2010 election by REPLACING some of the dirty dems, like the blew dogs in the house and senate, with truly progressive third party and independent candidates.

The scientifically impossible I do right away

The spiritually miraculous takes a bit longer

Yes, the Administration has been corralling the real progressives and bullying them into backing off on their reform bills. How long before they call for change?

If a reformer calls for change alone in the wilderness, does it make a sound?

I have a Dream: disillusioned Democrats in Congress stage a public announcement that they are leaving the party to join Ralph Nader and/or the Green Party.

Disillusioned Whigs did it in the 1850s and now we have the Republican Party. Disillusioned Conservatives in Canada did it in the 1990s and created the Reform party and now we have the New Conservatives. Huh?

Ralph Nader and the Greens need new blood - not a transfusion from the existing toxic blood supply!

Young people unite! And don't trust anyone who has ever been elected to Federal government up to this point in history...
