There are over 80 co-sponsors of a single payer health care bill, hr 676,in congress. These can become the progressive "fifth column" against the forces of status quo failure in washingtOOn, but I'm not counting on it! If the current progressive law makers in the house and senate would bolt from the dirty dem party and start a new third party, that would be nice, but I'm not counting on that either! There need be a large movement outside washingtOOn to make real change happen. It must be an anti two party movement. Both the dirty dems and filthy repubs must be brought down! I see the beginnings of such a movement, but thus far it is too fractured to be effective. Far too many of those who could and should be involved are statusQUObama and dirty dem apologists! If the wider group pulls together on issues like single payer health care, the continuation and escalation of the disaster of a war, etc. and works effectively AGAINST statusQUObama, it can have real success in the 2010 election by REPLACING some of the dirty dems, like the blew dogs in the house and senate, with truly progressive third party and independent candidates.
