Resolved: Despotism Has Taken Root in the U.S.

Below is an old time school film about democracy vs. despotism. If you haven’t seen it I suggest you do so before reading the rest of this post. It defines the terms I will use in this post.

The first scale the film introduces is the “democracy-despotism” scale. The US is now so far toward the despotic end, our democracy has all but disappeared. The rest of the scales prove this.

Respect Scale:
We are broken up into groups such as “liberal” and “conservative.” These groups show each other NO RESPECT. The same goes for “identity groups.” These groups divide us so we can be conquered. Which leads us to the:

Power Scale: Our federal legislature has been de facto disenfranchised by the executive branch use of signing statements that sign things into law and then allow the executive to ignore said law. Even when We The People come together and withdraw our consent, as we have on the issue of the failed war, the power elite simply ignore us and continue to fund the disaster of a war. Power has been concentrated into too few hands and we are paying the price for our failed political system.

Economic Distribution Scale: At the time the above film was produced. The top payed executives in our country received about 30 to 40 times the pay of their average employee. These economic power elites now receive 500 to 600 times the pay of their average employee. They have used the money they steal from the rest of us to buy the political power elites off. These bought and prayed for republicrat/dempublican spin doctors then serve the needs of their corporate benefactor. The rest of us get SCREWED!

Information Scale: The economic power elite now own all of the mainstream press. It should be clear to anyone that the legacy media has become nothing more then a bullshit industry producing nothing more then festering piles of misinformation dung. This while they proclaim themselves “fair and balanced.” What “debate” we get from them revolves around the tweedledee republicrat bullshit vs. the tweedledum dempublican bullshit. Although there are those of us like myself who have taken to publishing our own blogs and such, our speech tends to get drowned out by the great mass of bullshit spewed by the main stream media. Even the most popular blogs tend to fall into the phony republicrat vs. dempublican debate. Far too many of us are willing to take part in the dichotomous farce. We need answers that can only come from outside the corrupt two party system. We need answers that can only come from outside the corrupt corporate economic system. Unfortunately, our failed economic and failed political systems have become so fully integrated they prop each other up and make the continuation of their failure the only likely outcome.

It will come as no shock to anyone that has read this blog before or heard me speak in person that I am calling for an abandonment of the republicrat/dempublican duopoly come election time. By voting even a few third party candidates into power we can show the political duopoly that there is a paradigm shift in our political system. That we no longer will take part in their farce. In past when third parties have taken seats from the duopoly, the duopoly has responded by “co-opting” the issues of the successful third party. The duopoly then makes policy that reflects the choice made by third party voters. We have a good chance of forcing the power elite into this kind of corner come the 2008 election. We should go out and cast our ballots for ANYONE NOT A DEM OR REPUB!

The telepathic crickets on the editorial board have been practicing “political Yoga” all day. They are sitting in a circle chirping: out with the old duopoly, in with the new third parties!

The scientifically impossible I do right away

The spiritually miraculous takes a bit longer

  1. Good post as always.

  2. This is a great film that I have seen before and yet every time I watch it, I wonder how so many people can be asleep at the wheel.

This will be the year for third party candidates.

BTW: I just realized that you were not in my blogroll. Over site fixed.

  3. This is really a funny school film that tells so much about the state of the country. Very interesting post.
