What Can YOU do to fix it?

There should be no question in anyones mind that our system of government is failing us. Here in the good old USA, we have reached a point where most of We The People are considered some sort of idiot mob to be pandered to and otherwise manipulated by the political and economic power elite. They con us into letting them become richer and more powerful, as we become poorer and weaker. The number of people living in poverty in the us has been on the increase since the bush crime family gained the white house:

The above is a graph of US census data click the link for a PDF file of all the data in the report. A very interesting article that uses the data can be found at mindful.org

The chart above shows just how out of control the US military budget has become. We are outspending every other country on the planet. Even several counties combined can’t even come close to what the US spends! The above graph comes from:
The Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation.

Out of control spending is due in part to a military strategy referred to as “forward basing.” Since WW2, it has been the policy of the US government to build and maintain US military bases on foreign soil. As you can see from the above chart, we are subsidizing every countries military with our “forward bases.” If the other countries of the world feel under threat, they should build and maintain their own bases at their own expense. We can’t continue to shell out all this money in a country where we have other domistic issues such as poverty and the failure of our health care system.

The above chart shows the number of uninsured is rising while the amount paid in premiums is also rising, WTF? How can that be you ask? Simple, the greedy insurance companies are robbing us!

We are told again and again that we don’t have money to pay for health care for all. This is nonsense! Take a look at this site for answers to any questions concerning national health care:

Physicians for a National Health Program

Even if you don’t believe the numbers on the above site, if we need to subsidize a national health care system, we can do so by reduction of the military budget!

The apology for out of control military spending has been “peace through strength.” This is clearly bullshit, as we have the most powerful military on the planet, and as of the posting of this article, we have been at war for almost FIVE YEARS! I wrote about this in an earlier post titled US out of EVERYWHERE. The chart below show just how much of our federal budget really goes to the military.

You can see more information about the above chart at:

The War Resisters League

The belief of some of my fellow citizens (still!) is that electing the dems will lead to an end to the war and even a reduction of military spending. The almost 100 billion dollar war supplemental that flew through the dem controlled federal legislature should have put that nonsense to rest. although it can be said that dem administrations have in past done small reductions in the military budget, and repub administrations have always increased the military budget. What small decreases the dems have done over time have been more then made up for by the next repub administration. In the same way the dems have failed to stop the current war, they have failed to lower the military budget when in power. BOTH the dems AND repubs are militarist in nature. They still believe that military action is an instrument of foreign policy. I believe that military action is a FAILURE of foreign policy. We need move away from this permanent war mentality that has been running rampant in our government!

In order to become a peaceful and prosperous country we need reduce our military spending and invest in things that will solve our major problems here at home. With all the money we spend on bombs and guns we simply can’t budget for anything else. The dems and repubs have always been willing to bust our federal budget with outrageous expenditures on the military. We have no hope that these two parties will change their military free spending ways! We must REMOVE as many of the dems and repubs from office as we can come the 2008 election.

That is what YOU can do to fix our government! Vote for ANYONE not a dem or repub! Only by electing people from outside the two party system can we start to solve our problems. So long as the republicrats and the dempublicans take “turns” running our government we will continue to see our treasury raided by the military industrial complex. Through dem administrations and repub administrations we have always spent far too much of our federal budget on the means of producing death on an industrial scale. The time to put a stop to this is NOW! We can make for real change come the 2008 elections, so long as YOU refuse to continue to take part in the two party farce!

The telepathic crickets on the ClapSotronics editorial board are glad that many people are waking up to the failure of the two party system!

  1. Interesting … Impeachment of bush will aid to showing before the election that the people have power and that we can be gutzy enough to vote in a third party canidate. … I still like the shock collar hooked to a lie detector. Or a P300 brain wave monitor… If we see them convulsing during a speach we know their full of shit.

Useualy if you get zapped your eyes blink.

  2. It is really shame for all politicians that there are 47 million Americans don’t have any medical insurance and 37 million Americans live in poverty.

They have all the money to spend of unnecessary wars but not for the poor people. The good democracy if can’t take care of its own people than democracy is more evil than dictatorship. Screw this corrupted democracy and politicians.

  3. I remember seeing somwhere back in time, maybe, 2004 or so where the US givernment is spending $20,000.00 per US household on the Federal Budget. $20,000.00 PER HOUSEHOLD, that’s a lot of money.
I don’t know exactly what the ratio of the US GNP (gross national product) to our federal budget is but I wanna say like 37%.
That’s 37% of everything our nation produces goes into the government.
The budget has risen every year like 13 to 15%, every year, now into Trillions and Trillions of Dollars.
There is a culture of spending, Not only in the republican party, but in both parties.

    Where are the priorities?
    Who’s creating the priorities?
I guarantee you it’s special interest groups and politicians.
    Not the voting public……..

And with all that spending, like QB, says, 47 million without insurance., 37 million living in poverty levels. The people who really need it, don’t get it.

What are they doing with all this money?

  4. They spend the money on military hardware and war…

Both parties are guilty of this crime. We have to dump em and vote in those outside the two party system.

  5. Word, I heard Michael Moore on Fresh Air today talking about Sicko, but the bigger point he had to make was that our culture has a unique sense of irresponsibility to the have-nots: specifically, that other Western societies care for the poor not only because of an altruistic sense of right and wrong, but because they understand that at some point, poverty of any kind hurts a society at large. The U.S., on the other hand, believes that if you can marginalize the poor and those with problems and difficulties, it will improve your life by contrast. Interesting to see the two compared… I’m moving to italy šŸ˜‰
