The poor don’t profit from it either!

As things get economically worse and worse for most of us. More and more of us will have to seek help. The economy as run by the dirty dems and filthy repubs has been failing us for decades. A growing number of us are finally seeing how bad things are. Since the early 1980’s, the government run “social safety net” has been dismantled. ronny raygun and his recking crew started the job. It was all but completely destroyed in the 1990’s by then co-presidents hillary dillary doo and her mr. senetor clinton with their “welfare reform” scam. Since then, the bush crime family has pretty much finished the job with their “faith based” bullshit. The truth is, the pig rich corpoRATeers WANT the social safety net to disappear. What better way to force YOU into low wage employment? This from the washingtOOn post:

United Way to Target Health, Education and Income

Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, May 15, 2008; Page A01

The United Way of America, alarmed at the nation’s fraying safety net, will announce today that it will direct its giving toward ambitious 10-year goals that would cut in half the high school dropout rate and the number of working families struggling financially.

The nonprofit organization also wants to increase by one-third the number of youths and adults considered healthy. The announcement comes as it releases a report detailing a precipitous decline in key education, personal finance and health indicators.

The report finds that one in four high school students does not graduate on time, one in four families does not earn enough to provide for its household, and two in three young people and adults lead unhealthy lives, including those who engage in such risky behaviors as drug use, binge drinking and unsafe sex.

“The country is at a crossroads right now,” said Brian A. Gallagher, the United Way’s president and chief executive. “I’ve never felt a time in my career where there’s this combination of enough pain, feeling of a lack of progress, feeling like we’ve stalled, combined with a next generation of leadership demanding change.”

He said the announcement he plans today at the United Way’s annual conference in Baltimore is a “clarion call to action.”

Although local affiliates historically have funded a variety of programs, United Way leaders say the giving has done little to solve the country’s social problems.

That which I highlighted in red above is a startling admission by them. I have been saying for YEARS that “not for profit” organizations are not a replacement for a sensible government run safety net. As to what I mean by that, I posted my answer to that a year ago. You can read that post by clicking this link:

As to the not for profits. It has been my experience that these agencies are little more then social events for “ladies who do lunch” mascaraing as service to the poor. These organizations hold gala fund raising events and otherwise are excellent at getting donations. What they fail at is spending that money to make any real difference. The poor don’t need any more not for profit bullshit. THE POOR NEED SOME CASH! That is how we can end poverty in this country. Simply give the poor some money so they won’t be poor anymore!

For those of you that have a few extra bucks you wanna donate to a good cause. I suggest you make a donation to:

The only candidate for president that gives a damn about US!

  1. Well said ClapSo.

Whoever wins the presidency, do you think the ruling elite will ever lose their power and influence over the little people?

  2. Good question earthpal.

When Ralph Nader is elected prez, he will give power back to we the people and shut down most of the sleazy corpoRATe apparatus the power elite uses to control us. It will have to be an ongoing battle though…

  3. Poverty pimping organizations get government money year after year and spend it on their high salaries and their cronies and relatives. Despite all the money they get from the government–that’s US!–more and more people wind up in poverty or on the street every year. The people’s money should go directly to the people, not poverty pimping corporations. There should be a wage FLOOR, below which no person would be allowed to drop. There’s is no excuse for the continued impoverishment of so many people in the US. We, collectively, are letting them get away with it!
I agree w/ you, so I guess that makes us both “radicals”.
