Lipstick on a Pig AND roverat FINALLY gets a Subpoena

Senate Passes $165 Billion Measure to Pay for Wars

In Defiance of Bush, Bill Adds to Veterans’ Benefits

Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, May 23, 2008; Page A01

The Senate yesterday approved $165 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan well into the next presidency, but in a break with President Bush and the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain, it also approved billions of dollars in domestic spending that includes a generous expansion of veterans’ education benefits.

The war funding measure, which passed 70 to 26, will be twinned with the domestic spending package and sent to the House for final approval after Congress’s Memorial Day recess. Senators stripped the package of all language that mandated troop withdrawals and sought to govern the conduct of the Iraq war, which had been in a previous version approved by the House.

OK, I’m all for the relatively small amount they have in this bill for vets education and other domestic spending. But it is too little to sugar coat the bitter pill of continuing to fund the disaster of a war. If the dirty dems were really against this war, they would strip this bill of the $165 billion in war funding and just shove the domestic spending up labushanostra’s ass! This is proof that the dirty dems are in cahoots with the filthy repubs.

Yet another proof comes in the part of the post article I highlighted in red. No matter if mcPain or nobama wins, this is the kind of “non binding resolution” crap we will get from the sleazy idiots in congress. They have been pulling this crap for years now, and fully intend to pull it after the November election. The part in coward yellow is proof they fully intend to continue this war after we are rid of the bush crime family! If you fall for this and vote mcbama in, look forward to years more of war!

If that ain’t enough, we have this from the new york times:

Iraq Spending Ignored Rules, Pentagon Says

Published: May 23, 2008

A Pentagon audit of $8.2 billion in American taxpayer money spent by the United States Army on contractors in Iraq has found that almost none of the payments followed federal rules and that in some cases, contracts worth millions of dollars were paid for despite little or no record of what, if anything, was received.

To those fools who have emailed me complaining that I refer to war spending as pork barrel spending. DOES THE ABOVE PROVE MY POINT? I think it does!

Looks like pdaconyers finally got a clue. This from time mag online

House Committee Subpoenas Rove

By AP/ LARA JAKES JORDAN Thursday, May. 22, 2008

(WASHINGTON) — The House Judiciary Committee on Thursday subpoenaed former White House top political adviser Karl Rove to testify about whether the White House improperly meddled with the Justice Department.

Accusations of politics influencing decisions at the department led to last year’s resignation of former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

The subpoena issued Thursday orders Rove to testify before the House panel on July 10. He is expected to face questions about the White House’s role in firing nine U.S. attorneys in 2006 and the prosecution of former Gov. Don Siegelman of Alabama, a Democrat.

House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers had negotiated with Rove’s attorneys for more than a year over whether the former top aide to President Bush would testify voluntarily.

WTF!? pdaconyers ” negotiated with Rove’s attorneys for more than a year” HUH? shit on that! Lets see a perp walk! I want roverat doin’ hard time starting Tuesday. What the hell was pdaconyers negotiating? They shoulda told roverat to show up for the hearing or be arrested over a year ago! BRING ON THE HANGING JUDGE! DAGNABIT!

I’m out of patience with this stuff, really I am!

Support and vote for the only presidential candidate that will bring justice back to our nations capital! The day after Nader is sworn in as prez, I bet a whole bunch of washingtOOn fools get subpoenas!

One Response to “Lipstick on a Pig AND roverat FINALLY gets a Subpoena”

  1. I understood funding for ‘enduring bases’ in Iaq was deliberately omitted from the budgets. Odd how they are there anyway : coverage of their presence about as intense as that of their funding…functionally nil .
It doesn’t make me optimisitic of the success of any strategy purporting to deny funds for aggression. That’s looking like a sideshow to gull the rubes.
